Top Tips for Looking Younger With Minimal Effort

Aging happens to the best of us. One day we’ll wake up and just want to look younger again. For some of us it doesn’t happen until we’re in our sixties. For others, we want to look younger as soon as we hit 30. However old you are and however young you want to look, it doesn’t have to be a long and painful process. There are some simple ways to look younger with minimal effort. Here are some top tips for doing exactly that.

Hair Tricks

Just playing around with your hairstyle can knock years off of you. Some haircuts can make us ladies look a lot older than we actually are. Some can also make us look like mutton dressed as lamb. You need to find a good hairdresser that knows exactly how to knock those years off of you. They should be able to recommend styles that frame your face and don’t make you look old or tired. The color of your hair is also important to think about. Soft shades and highlights can take the years off you. Use inspiration from older celebrities to see how they look younger just through changing their hair.

Makeup Tricks

Knowing the right makeup tricks can also be a great way to seem younger. Piling on the foundation is a big no-no, for example. After all, there’s nothing worse than our fine lines being caked with makeup. Consider using a tinted moisturizer instead of the thicker foundations that used to fill our makeup bags. This will give you an even cover without highlighting any of those crows feet. Widening your eyes is also another great makeup trick, to knock the years off. Use an eyelash curler to give yourself a wide eyed, youthful appearance.

Cosmetic Procedures

Of course, one of the quickest ways to look young with minimal effort is through cosmetic surgery. You don’t need to get an entire facelift to look youthful, however. Procedures such as Orlando BOTOX® treatment have risen in popularity over the years. Not only does it cost less than a face lift, but it’s less painful too. Not everyone wants to go down the cosmetic surgery route, and that’s fine. But just know that the option is there for you to consider.

Living Healthy

One of the best ways to reduce aging is just by living healthier. That means eating plenty of fruit and veg, and drinking lots of water. Exercising regularly, not smoking, and looking after your skin in the sun helps too. These little changes can have a big impact on your skin and body over the years. Make a few lifestyle changes and you’ll soon notice the difference. Not only will you look younger but you’ll feel younger too. Those who feel youthful, look youthful!

You don’t have to spend hours each day trying to slow down the anti-aging process. Not with these tips and tricks! Just a little lifestyle change each day could be all you need to look and feel ten years younger. Now, who doesn’t want that?

Kids Academy

This post was created in partnership with Mom Buzz Media Blogger Network. All views & opinions expressed below are my own and are not influenced in anyway.

Kids Academy | Educational Apps for Children

I love that my girls love to learn and I love that they can do so while playing games. It is very hard to find apps for my phone that do not cost an arm and a leg, but that I won’t feel bad about them playing. Of course I want to prepare them for school and help them learn in a way that is fun and keeps them engaged. It seems like most of the educational apps we have found have been boring to them, so they stop playing within a few hours. Thanks to Kids Academy they have a game they love to play and I know they are learning at the same time.

screen520x924 (2) Preschool & Kindergarten Learning Kids Game
Educational Books & Free Songs

As I said above, it is hard to find something age appropriate that will keep my girls occupied and helps them learn as well. I love that this app is more like a work book then an app. I have spent a lot of money on work books that my girls can use to prepare them for what’s next in school, but each one is a one use book. Once they write in them they have to be thrown out. I love that this has a lot of the same learning techniques, but is interactive and can be used again and again. It makes things super easy and it also saves mommy a lot of money. My oldest is obsessed with writing and loves tracing and completing mazes. This app is perfect for her and keeps her entertained for hours and she is ready to jump back in the next day. Thanks to this app she will be ready for Kindergarten next year and will be ahead of the rest of the class. I can’t wait for her to be able to show off her skills.

My youngest daughter is obsessed with drawing and learning about shapes and is constantly obsessing about different bugs and what they are and what they do. She is not as interested in letters and numbers so this app is perfect for her and it still helps her learn which is great. I love that the app is very colorful and keeps her engaged. It makes it to where I can let her play without feeling guilty that she is playing a game on my phone.

My Favourite Accessorizing Tips!

I love playing with my accessories to make my outfit stand out. Experimenting with different styles and looks is one of my favorite things to do! I thought I’d share some of my favorite tips with you, so take a look and see what you think:

  1. Take Off the Last Thing You Put On

This is a tip that has been doing the rounds for years, and it can really work. Put on all of the jewelry you think you need, then take off the last thing you put on. This stops you from looking ‘too much’, or over accessorizing. It doesn’t always work, especially if you’re careful with the accessories you put on, but it can work on occasion.

2. Use the 12 Point Rule

The 12 point rule is simple to understand and can be a good rule to stick to. Give each accessory a point. You should have at least 4 points, and no more than 12. Here’s how to do it:

  • Earrings – 1 point each.
  • Rings – 1 point.
  • Bangles – 1 point.
  • A large bag – 1 point.
  • Statement shoes – 1 point.
  • Scarves – 1 point.
  • Hats – 1 point.

Add up your accessories and you’ll know if you’re wearing enough/too much. You can use this system whether you have a night out or a work meeting. You can’t really go wrong!

3. Know What Metals Suit You

The three most popular metals are silver, gold, and rose gold. Know which ones suit you by learning about your skin tone. Some metals can wash you out, but others will make you look radiant. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing collegiate jewelry or religious pieces, the color can make a difference. That being said, you can break the rules if you really want to!

4. Balance it All Out

Balance should be achieved in all aspects of life, even jewelry. Balance out your jewelry by making sure you don’t make yourself too top or bottom heavy. You wouldn’t wear statement earrings and a statement necklace usually, because it’ll look too heavy on top.

5. Invest in Vintage

Vintage jewelry is one of the best kinds of jewelry to invest in. It’ll last forever, and it’ll more than likely become a family heirloom! I love wearing jewelry like this and knowing that nobody else will have it.

6. Wear Jewelry That Speaks to You

Sometimes, you find a piece of jewelry and it just speaks to you. Whether it’s precious or costume, you know if a piece of jewelry was made for you. If you really love something, buy it now or regret it later! My favorite necklace is a simple triangle shape on a long silver chain. It isn’t real silver, but I can wear it with everything and I love it!

7. Layer it Up

I sometimes like to wear multiple necklaces, as well as stack up my rings. Every now and then I’ll rock an arm party. I love layering my jewelry!

I hope you love these tips!

Top tips for helping your child use the Internet safely

Top tips for helping your child use the internet safely With the NSPCC stating that most children spend on average around 12 hours per week on the internet, it can be overwhelming for most parents to know how to ensure their child’s safety. But with a few key pointers, you and your child can use the internet in a safe way together. Here are a few things to consider: THE BASICS 2738451853_6e0015ef91_z Before your child even encounters the internet, it’s important that you discuss the dangers of it with them very early on. So rather than try and cover all of the perils of the internet all at once, why not discuss your internet activity openly with the child, so that they can learn from you what is relevant and what is potentially dangerous. It’s also important to set up ground rules as to your child’s internet use, such as which sites they have access to and how long they are allowed to use the internet for. PARENTAL CONTROLS 9441141356_65064a3e12_b Get to know the parental controls that your internet service provider (ISP) offers. ISPs such as TalkTalk , Virgin Media , Sky and BT all offer packages that limit the access that your child has to websites that may feature unsuitable content. You can also do things like set the web brower’s homepage to something child-friendly. And checking the age ratings on the websites that your child visits will also considerably lessen any harmful effects. PERSONAL INFORMATION social-network-76532_640 A very simple thing to teach your child when introducing them to the internet is to never share any personal information. This is often not as straightforward as it seems, as many social networking sites such as Facebook note your location when you check in, and Instagram also makes a feature of users tagging photos that can inadvertently reveal personal information. GAMING images One of the biggest draws for children using the internet will be online gaming. While this may seem perfectly innocent, many games encourage users to spend real money in order to buy extra lives or access extra levels. This could lead to your child inadvertently running up huge bills trying to further themselves in a game. And a lot of gaming sites such as Casino Saga will clearly state a minimum age to play on games where you can spend and win money online. So it is well advised to monitor your child’s internet activity and make sure that they are aware of the seriousness of these age restrictions. SOCIAL NETWORKS Social_Networking_Icons_by_deleket And once your child is a little older, they will inevitably want to start using social networks. In this instance, it’s very important that they understand that strangers can lie about themselves online so as to lull young people into a false sense of security. Whilst your child may not want one of their parents befriending them online so as to check up on their behaviour, a good middle ground would be to agree to have a ‘trusted adult’ as an online friend to ensure that your child is not doing anything potentially harmful online.

Unlocking Your Skins Potential: Look Younger in an Instant

No one wants to be 19 again. It was a rubbish time. You don’t know how you are, and you are still finding your way in life. But, as any mature women will attest, they would love to have the skin of a 19-year-old! When it comes to looking younger, it’s all about unlocking your skin’s potential. You can banish fine lines and wrinkles in an instant.

There are some great ways you can look younger, instantly. What’s more, you don’t have to spend a fortune on doing so.

Intrigued? You should be.

Botox has become something of a dirty word. But, that shouldn’t be the case. If you want to plump out sallow skin, this is an excellent way to do so. It’s relatively pain-free and safe too. Botox cosmetic procedures have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. It’s always wise to go to a reputable doctor who will achieve a natural look. And, of course, it’s vital that you use sparingly to ensure that your face doesn’t have a ‘frozen’ appearance. Botox is a great way of plumping out the skin in a more natural fashion. It’s the simplest way of banishing wrinkles for a prolonged period.

Exfoliating Glow Pads

Glow Pads have been doing the rounds for a while now. They are a great, natural way of buffing your skin. Dead skin cells, dry skin and sore patches can make you look older. Glow pads ensure that your face is gently treated to remove these problematic areas. Just apply water to the pad and away you go. Your face will be glowing in an instant.

Make the Most of Your Eyes

One of the more simple ways to look younger, in an instant, is to focus on your eyes. They are a dead giveaway of your age. Make sure that you apply soothing gel to the lower eye area to reduce puffiness. Then, add a slick of mascara and white eyeliner to the lower rims of your eye. This will give you a more ‘awake’ appearance. As such, your eyes will look livelier, and you will look younger. Use mascaras that complement your eye colour. You don’t have to opt for sooty black lashes. For mature ladies, this can look more aging. So, find a colour that is akin to your hair colour for more natural results.

Firm, Plump, Repeat

Firming gels are a great way of making your skin look plumper. Opt for creams and lotions that have bocoa as active ingredients. Ensure that you slather your body in these lotions, every day, after showering. This is a great way of keeping your skin firm and plump. What’s more, you will increase the elasticity of your skin. A lack of elasticity can make skin look older. So, plump up the volume with a bocoa creamy lotion.

It’s All in Your Smile

Your smile should always be plastered on your face. But, if you want to roll back the years, you need to think about your mouth. Glossy white teeth can transform your face in an instant. Add a slick of brighter smile lipstick to show off your pearly whites.

Building the Perfect Work Wardrobe

Having a gorgeous set of clothes that are fit for work is usually the last thing on our minds. We all seem to stick to colours like blacks, greys and navies. But, you don’t have to be boring. Ditch the two set and midi-length skirt. After all, looking smart and sophisticated doesn’t mean that you have to stride around in a power suit from 9 till 5. On the contrary, there are some seriously glamorous ways that you can build a superb work wardrobe. What’s more, you don’t have to worry about, not looking formal enough.

Invest in Funky Trousers

2015 has seen some amazing trends already. Funky trousers seem to be everywhere. But, you don’t have to go for wild disco pants. They would be rather inappropriate for the office! When it comes to trousers, investing a classic black pair of tailored pants is the way to go. Cigarette pants are a style staple. But, if you want to add a little funk to your work wardrobe, why not opt for houndstooth patterns and simple checks? They are fresh, sophisticated and suitable for work.

Build Around Your Staples

There are some things that every woman needs in her work-wear. Start with some critical choices. A crisp white shirt is perfect for maximising your appeal in the workplace. You can add cashmere sweaters and a trench coat for sophisticated chic. Investing in staples that you can build around, is a great way of looking smart every day.

Never Underestimate the Power of a Good Handbag

Having gorgeous Prada bags on your arm is a great way of making your outfit stand out from the crowd. When it comes to bags, it’s always best to go for a designer. After all, high street bags and cheap brands look exactly that. You can transform the whole look of your outfit with a stunning piece of arm candy.

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Work shoes are far from dull! You can explore a wealth of different styles and colours to bring your outfit alive. Browns, tans and blacks are great for the office. But, they can be a little dull. If you do prefer these colours, go for suede materials or snakeskin to make your outfit come alive. If you want to experiment with colour, it’s best to leave the red shoes at home. Opt for mauve tones and deep teals. These are ‘sensible’ enough for work but add a pop of colour to your fabulous work outfit.

Accessorising Your Look

Accessories are a must. But, many women feel that accessorising in the office is a huge no-no. Forget about your ‘rules’ it’s time to unleash your inner fashionista. Add a simple skinny belt to a dress in a contrasting colour. Choose a statement necklace to spice up a gorgeous suit. Add bracelets, earrings and headbands to your overall look. Adding a couple of statement rings can be a fun way of making you feel unique in the office. You don’t have to opt for simple and sensible. Adding accessories is the best way of making your work wardrobe look stunning.

The Low Down on Fashion in 2015!

Are you dying to know which fashion trends are said to crop up this year? You don’t have to wonder for much longer! I have some insider information on the upcoming trends that you should find very useful when making your wardrobe picks for 2015. Take a look!

70s Inspired

The 70s is going to take us by storm this year, with worn suede materials and huge floral patterns on just about everything. Dressing with inspiration from another era can be so much fun; just take a look at last year. Last year we were all focused on the 60s, and in some cases the 90s. We’re not travelling back as far this time, but you can still have fun with it. Try scouring vintage shops to see if you can find any genuine 70s pieces!

Bright Yellow

Bright yellow is going to be one of the ‘it’ colours in 2015. Basically, if you see something yellow, snap it up before somebody else does! You could wear a yellow jacket, yellow shoes, anything yellow just so long as it’s bright and beautiful. Don’t worry, when styled right you won’t look like Big Bird from Sesame Street!

Blue is the New Black

Blue is taking over black in the fashion world, and it’s set to be everywhere. You could even consider mixing yellow and blue for two trends in one! Wear it with white for a more colourful take on monochrome. Those who usually wear a different style of clothing, like Muslim clothing, can even follow trends like this.

Monochrome is Back

Sure, you could wear blue with white as I just mentioned, but monochrome is still here in a big way. In fact, it hasn’t budged for quite some time now. If you want to look classy and sophisticated, don’t hesitate to put together a monochrome outfit with lots of texture.

Interesting Shapes and Cuts

All over the most recent catwalks we saw interesting shapes and cuts. These won’t be for everybody; you must be pretty brave to rock some of these trends! Think boxy tops paired with big poofy skirts, and even shift dresses for inspiration.

Japanese Inspired

Japanese fashion is all about luxury materials and pretty, elegant patterns. Get ready to be Japanese inspired this year! You can rock your Japanese ensemble in the form of a dress, top, or even a kimono. Just make sure you get in on this trend!

Chunky Chokers

Chokers have been back with a bang. Just about everybody I know has one, some of them in multiple colours. One thing I’ve noticed though? They’re all made of plastic. They’re those real ‘90s’ chokers. This year, get ready to rock much chunkier, heavy metal chokers for a harder edge to your outfits. Grunge has never been so stylish!

With this information, you can shop till you drop knowing you’re buying all the right stuff. Feel free to add your own twist to some of the trends to keep it original and unique. Nobody likes a copycat!
