Starlooks Box Review

We all want the latest makeup products, but how do we know if they will work for us? Of course you can look for makeup review on this site, or any other review site. Which is wonderful, and I’m glad you’re here for this review. Although there are many other options for you to test out the latest and greatest makeup products. So what is this other option? There are companies out there, that for a monthly fee, will send you samples of these awesome products. One of these wonderful companies is Starlooks.
I was able to receive Starlooks August Starbox which features some really awesome products that were hand picked by Lauren Bradley. The box I received was their first special edition box, and I definitely have to agree that it was special! My box came with some very pretty pink lip gloss and some really gorgeous eyeliner.
Before I talk about the products let me talk about the focus of this box, Lauren Bradley. Lauren is a very famous fashion designer that has worked with Heidi Klum, Regina Spektor, Chris Martin, and many more. She believes that every woman should look no further than our natural form to find our true beauty. I was very excited to try the products that she picked for this box.

The lip gloss is very pretty. The color is absolutely amazing, and lasted way longer than a lot of glosses I have used before. Not only is the bottle pretty, but the brush is really awesome and makes it really easy to apply. The lip gloss itself is not too thick, and creates a perfect shine on my lips. It surprisingly also helped moisturize my lips, which was a major plus.
The second product included in the box was one of my new favorite makeup products, eye liner. Until recently I have not ever really been introduced into the makeup world. I have only really seen what is included in the cheap sections of store like Target or Walgreens. Because of my blogging adventures I have learned what good makeup is really like. This particular eye liner comes in a jar and you use a brush to apply it. This type of eyeliner is VERY new to me, so I was excited to compare it to traditional eye liner.
This eyeliner almost looks gold in the jar, but is a lot darker on the eyes, which is great for me. I hate that when using cheap eye liner you get this awkward mirror effect from it. If you try to get rid of it you end up ruining the rest of your makeup. What seems like something that is too thick to put on your eyes ends up being extremely easy to apply. It glides on like no other liner I have ever used, it does not create a mirror effect, and it stays on for hours. Not only that but it does not crack, and dries very quickly. I even left it on over night and the majority was still there.

I really like my Starbox, and for $15 I believe you get more then your monies worth. Their products are really great, and their customer service is also great. You can find Starlooks on their website here.

Bare Body Soaps Organics Review

There are way too many soaps out there that smell good, are good for the environment, and are healthy for our skin. I personally believe that the best soaps out there are handmade. Not only do they smell way better, but are just higher quality then most soaps you buy in the store. I was able to get some soap from Bare Body Soaps Organics to review for you.

I absolutely love this soap. It smells wonderful! I received Organic Rose Geranium Soap, and Organic Lavender Soap. Both have bits of the flowers in them, which I think is a great touch.

My favorite scent for any smelly products is Lavender. Lavender is meant to help calm, and heal. This particular soap has real lavender buds in it to help exfoliate your skin. With two kids running around I can use all the calming I can get. This soap made my skin soft, and did in fact help me relax.

I love the scent of any flowers, especially roses. So my next choice was the Rose Geranium Soap. This soap uses rose clay, which is not only great for the skin and the color of the pink soap, but can also be used for shaving as the clay makes the lather a little thicker then you average soap. This soap’s scent is a little stronger then the lavender soap and makes my entire kitchen smell like a rose garden. I love it!

Whirl-a-Style Review and Giveaway

Are you sick of not being able to create a perfect hair bun, or not having enough time to create one? For me, I have not being able to create a pretty hair bun for a formal outing. I love being able to dress up, but I hate how long it takes to get my hair to match my outfit, look nice, and that hopefully will stay up for the whole night. Nothing is worse then spending hours on your hair and having it fall apart before you even get out the door.

That is where this amazing product, the Whirl-a-Style, comes in. You can create a perfect bun, in a matter of minutes. Not only is the process quick and easy, but it will look great, and stay looking great all day, or night unlike the traditional hair tie.
First you unsnap your Whirl-a-Style put your hair in-between the slit, slide it down your hair until you are a couple inches from the ends, or as close as you can get if you have long hair like mine.
Then you slowly twist the Whirl-a-Style until you reach your scalp.
Lastly, you take the Whirl-a-Style pull each end together, and snap it closed.
Once I understood how to put the Whirl-a-Style in my hair, it was very simple to do. As I said earlier, my hair is very long, so it is very hard to create a pretty up-do without falling apart or just not looking right. So I was very excited about doing this review. I knew that if it worked for my hair, it would work for many others as well. Having long hair did make it a little more difficult to use, but it was still very easy and very quick. I think that this product would be great for just about every hair type, and with the different sizes, and colors they offer you can find the perfect Whirl-a-Style for you.

Paul & Joe Review

Does this sound like you, or someone you know? If so then I have something really cool to share with you.
When you look at all the Paul & Joe products you can’t help but think about how cute they are. To me Paul & Joe products are adult beauty products in kids packaging. Before you think that this is a bad thing, please reconsider. Their products may have all the fun qualities of children’s play makeup such as fun colors, and fun packaging, but they have the quality of some of the most expensive cosmetics without the price tag. I was able to receive a sample of their nail polish as well as their lip gloss from their summer 2012 cosmetics line.
Before I share with you my findings on these products I wanted to tell you why I was beyond excited to review them The summer 2012 line is inspired by Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” So this lines colors are made to remind you of everything that has to do with my favorite thing, fairies! I could not wait to get this collection into my hands!
The first product that I am going to talk about is the “Fairie Kisses” Lip gloss. At first I was terrified of using this product. Remember when I said that the colors and designs reminded me of children’s makeup? This lip gloss is the man reason I said that. Not only is the lip gloss in a tube that a child would love, which mine does, but the lip gloss itself is green. Green is one of my least favorite colors, and definitely not a color I would choose for my lips, but I decided to try it anyway.

I was very surprised with this product. What I thought would be a horrible experience ended up being amazing. The lip gloss not only went on clear, but stayed on for a very long time. It was not overly sticky and did not make my lips feel weird or dry out when it wore off. In fact, it actually plumped and even conditioned my lips. I could not believe how amazing my lips looked and felt with this lip gloss on. It must have been the added pixie-dust!
My favorite of the two that I received was the “Pixie” nail polish. Pixie is a very sparkly silver based nail polish that when in the light comes to life by showing its many sparkling colors. While I generally love silver, I don’t normally wear it for long because the color either fades or the silver just becomes boring. I don’t think Pixie will ever becomes boring or will ever lose its shine!
This nail polish glides on like no other nail polish I have used. With most glittery nail polish it either takes a few tries to lay flat or will leave a lot of bumps on the surface from the glitter itself. I did not come across either problem when applying this nail polish. I only have to use 2 coats to get an amazing layer of color over my nails.
One thing I have always struggled with when it comes to nail polish is getting it to stay on my nails. Nail polish will literally peel right off in a matter of minutes, even acrylics will start to lift off of my nails on the first day. I am proud to report to you that this nail polish did not lift, peel, or even lose its perfect shine for over a week. I was so excited that I finally found a polish that not only looks great but that actually stays on my nails too. I will definitely be buying more of this nail polish, along with other colors in the very near future!

Kitsch Hair Ties Review

I love having at least one hair tie with me at all times. My hair is very long, and tends to get in the way of just about everything. One thing I hate about the traditional hair tie is that there’s never really a good place to put it where it can be found instantly, and not be in the way, or without being uncomfortable. When I was younger, and smaller, I used to put my black hair ties around my wrists. Now if I try to put one on my wrist not only does it look tacky, but it cuts off the circulation to my hands, and is just plain uncomfortable. So I went on a search to find a great hair tie that not only looks cute, but can be comfortably placed on your wrist so you don’t have to search through your purse to find it.

Here’s what I found:

It may be hard to believe, but these are hair ties. These hair ties are made with love by Kitsch. When I said made with love here is what I mean: Each hair tie is 100% hand made so you know they are great. They have specially treated edges so that they will not get worn out, and dyed and treated so that the color will not get all over you, your hair, or your clothing.

I love all the different colors and designs they have. They have a color to match every outfit, and every personality. You could wear one, or you can stack and layer as many as you want to create your own design. I was worried that they might be uncomfortable, or would stretch out quickly. While they did stretch a little, they could still be used and still held my hair great. They did not hold my hair too tight, and they felt just like a regular bracelet on my wrist. I was worried about the sparkly hair ties getting glitter everywhere or being scratchy on my wrists, but they were surprisingly soft and no glitter has come of my hair ties.

Looking for something a little different? Kitsch has Some really cool hair ties in their “I am…” line. Each one says something different to help inspire you throughout your day. My favorite is the “I am Beautiful” hair tie, every time I see it I smile. Other ones say I am Love, Peace, Happiness, and Grateful. These would be great for gifts, party favors, or just to make you feel great.

Spanx Blue Nile Bra-llelujah Swim Dress Review

I know that I am not the only one that will spend hours trying on swimsuits only to wind up leaving a store with nothing. Last time I went to the mall to find a swimsuit I left empty handed after trying on at least 50 swimsuits and deciding against over 100. While they would normally be my size, they would make things that aren’t my best features look even worse. After having 2 kids anything that makes these features worse is just not something I even want to think about, let alone wear. Sure I could spend a good $400 on a swimsuit that fits, but I would be settling for a design I do not like and doesn’t make me feel any better about myself.

That’s when I found Spanx. Spanx has a lot of different products that will help you look great, and make you feel great too. I received their Blue Nile Bra-llelujah Swim Dress to review for you. I was a little worried about ordering a swimsuit online, not only because of size issues, but because of how different products are then in their pictures. When I received my Swim Dress I couldn’t have been happier. It was beautiful! Sure it looks pretty in the picture, but the picture just does not do it justice! Normally swimsuits are too thick, whether it is in the padding, or even just the swimsuit itself. This swimsuit is perfect. It’s very hard for me to find a bathing suit that fits my stomach, my butt, and my chest. I wear a 36 DDD/F in most bras, while I am a 38DD in others. So finding a swimsuit that can keep everything contained is a little difficult, at least not without it being too big somewhere else.

I absolutely love this swimsuit and all the sizing options they come in. I was able to choose a 16 D/DD which was pretty exciting to be because normally you can’t choose both a bra size and an actually swimsuit size. I guess that is why they call it a “Bra-llelujah” swim dress. Another reason I think they call it this is because it has a bra attached to it. Yes, an actual bra, under-wire and all. Best part was that it fit! It took me a minute to get the suit over my hips, but once that part was over it went on easily and immediately made my body look a little more slim. I felt like I had lost 10 lbs just by putting on a swimsuit.
This swimsuit also has tie strings on each side. Why you ask? You can wear this swimsuit as a medium length dress (about mid thigh), or you can wear it high up like in the picture below. I love that I don’t have to change out of my swimsuit just to feel comfortable. I can just pull it down a little and I feel like I am wearing a normal summer dress.
It is extremely comfortable, in fact it is the most comfortable swimsuit I have ever put on. I love that this swimsuit makes me feel and look great, which is so hard to find! It helps make everything that needs help on my body look so much better. This is my new favorite swimsuit, as well as my new favorite dress.
