As a volunteer editor I am helping to support one of the largest human-generated directories. Its free listings are incorporated into the search results of AOL, AltaVista, Lycos, HotBot and Netscape, among others.

As Co-Webmaster my responsibilities have included news feeds, code and link checking, image mapping, banner creation and implementation (CGI), META tag creation and updating pages. I also train new staff members.

My position also entails a wide range of promotional activities - including META tag creation and key word usage. Beyond site-exclusive promotion, I search out top ranking sites to request they link to SHM, post messages at relevant discussion boards and newsgroups, perform hand and mass submissions to search engines, and keep up to date on promotional news.

Former Webmaster, I presently volunteer my services as System Administrator to this extensive site. Consistant contact with a staff of interns, tracking assignments and validating each addition to the site translate to strong leadership capability and communication skills. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintain links database, corresponding with individuals interested in adding links, and increasing the usefulness of the databases/links department through further development of its resources.
Check regularly for dead, redirected, or inappropriate links and typos throughout the site.
Oversee staff interns.
Create and maintain coding templates.
Check intern-coded articles for compliance to site guidelines and validation.
